Experts with a sound technical education who are capable of identifying and understanding new areas of interest and concepts in the field and improving upon the methods used in information technology are more in demand than ever. After completing this programme, you will be capable of improving information technology concepts and methods, identifying and understanding new areas of interest in this field and recognising changing technological paradigms.
The Autonomous Systems and Robotics branch builds on the principles of sensor and actuator technology, robotics and cybernetics. You have the opportunity to supplement your training in a diverse range of technical fields by focusing on areas of personal interest, such as Autonomous Systems and Robotics (autonomous robotics, automation technology, intelligent transport and vehicle systems), Networks and Communications (sensor networks, digital signal processors, wireless networks), Informatics (artificial intelligence, systems security, human-machine interaction) and/or Mathematics (stochastic processes, data analysis, optimisation).
Building on fundamental principles from the fields of Sensor and Actuator Technology, Robotics, and Control Systems Engineering students completing the branch of study Autonomous Systems and Robotics are well-equipped to identify and understand new problems. Furthermore you improve concepts and methods from the field of Information Technology and you learn to recognise technological paradigm shifts.
The Autonomous Systems and Robotics branch offers you the opportunity to gain expertise in specialist areas including autonomous robotics, advanced driver assistance systems, self-driving cars, sensor and actuator networks, cybernetic networks, intelligent production systems, automation technology or intelligent transport systems.

Graduates of this Master’s programme are qualified for a wide range of careers in the development or product management of technical systems with car manufacturers and suppliers, automation technology, microelectronics, consultancy companies and medical technology.
